This is one of those pictures that I really like, but I can’t explain exactly why. Maybe it’s the contrast between the pure white chairs and table with the pastel orange of the background? Maybe it’s the darker orange of the flowers against the background? Maybe it’s dark color of the leaves, which is so different from the high key nature of the rest of the shot? The carvings on the chair backs and the table?Who knows?
To me it’s a kind of large found still life.

I was sitting having lunch in one of our local eateries (Donato’s Trattoria in Briarcliff Manor, NY) when I noticed the olive oil with rosemary (I think) inside it and thought it might make an interesting picture. I rearranged the salt and pepper shakers a bit and this is the result.

More snow, but not a lot. The pictures (particularly the first) are a bit misleading. The snow didn’t stick to paved surfaces so the roads, and more importantly my driveway were clear. Still it was rainy, cold and snowy for the entire day and I didn’t really feel like going out so the pictures were taken in/from my garden.
