The pictures in the preceding post were taken from the river. This one was taken from the interior of the island. You can quite clearly see the fragile state of the structure and the attempt (apparently successful) to stabilize it using the steel (I assume) supports.

Of course it was never a “castle”. It wasn’t built for defence and no-one every lived there. It’s just one of number large armories built to store Bannerman’s military surplus materials.
