My wife thought this looked like the house in “Psycho“. I didn’t think it looked sufficiently “Victorian” and expressed my opinion that it looked a bit like something by Edward Hopper.

It turns out that we both might have been partly right. It turns out that a painting by Hopper inspired Hitchcock as explained in this article. Moreover, it turns out that the house that Hopper used as model still exists – on Route 9W in Haverstraw, NY, which is quite near to where I live. Maybe I’ll go for a visit sometime.
