One interesting feature at Merestead is the pet cemetery to the southeast of the Mansion. Situated on the edge of the garden It has the family pets (mostly dogs) marked with small gravestones. Some interesting dog names can be found — makes your mind wander back to the glory days of this mansion when it was full of farm and human life!
