Corn husks are Halloween symbols that go all the way back to the times of Samhain when agriculture was a big part of the season. In modern times, corn husk decorations can stick around all the way through Thanksgiving, like the scarecrow.

This is because corn husks symbolize the end of harvest and the change of seasons. They can represent a successful harvest, autumn’s end and the start of winter. (King Halloween).
