A few weeks ago we went to Verplanck’s Point, the site of the King’s Ferry where in 1781 American troops under General George Washington and French troops under the Comte de Rochambeau crossed the River Hudson on their way to the Battle of Yorktown, Virginia. The US victory there led to the end of the Revolutionary War.

I’ve posted on Verplanck’s Point before (See: Kingsferry).
