I always find old dolls a little “spooky”. I’ve read (See for example: Uncanny valley: why we find human-like robots and dolls so creepy that human beings feel very uncomfortable looking at something which looks human, but isn’t. Apparently that’s why we find humanoid robots, clowns, apes rather difficult. Perhaps this is true of dolls too.
