Last night into this morning we had our third significant coastal storm (‘Nor’Easter) in less than two weeks. Nor’Easter 1 brought strong winds, but not too much snow. It downed large tree limbs at one of our properties, damaged our gazebo and left about a foot of snow up at our lake house (which didn’t have power for about a week). Nor’Easter 2 had less powerful winds but produced more snow (about 1.5 feet at our lake house). It also brought down a small tree and a couple of large branches (although thankfully they just fell to the ground and didn’t hit anything) at our house in Briarcliff Manor. Today’s storm was the least significant of the three. It largely stayed out to sea and we were only affected by the outer bands. Still we ended up with about 4 inches of snow. We went down to our house in Briarcliff Manor today and I was surprised to find that almost all of the snow had melted. No snow on our driveway at all. Up at the lake we still have between two and three feet on the ground. What a difference 25 miles makes.
