We were driving up Grand Street in Croton-on-Hudson on our way to a doctor’s appointment when we came across a lovely old house overlooking the Hudson. After we’d parked I took the dog for a walk in the direction of the house. It turned out to be a funeral home, specifically the Edward F. Carter funeral home.

For some reason I didn’t feel comfortable taking a picture of the building, so instead I took one looking across the property over the River Hudson, with an enclosed vegetable garden (I think) in the foreground.
